Mr. Cipriano Marín
Biography
Cipriano Marín was the Secretary General of the First World Conference on Sustainable Tourism (1995), and the Deputy Secretary of INSULA (International Scientific Council for the Development of Islands, 1995-2006). He has promoted or coordinated five international conferences related to sustainable tourism, in addition to working as a consultant for both UNESCO and the European Commission.
He has worked on innovation and field projects related to sustainable development, tourism and energy, including activities as head of UNESCO's RENFORUS (Renewable Energy Futures for UNESCO Sites) and as coordinator of the Biosphere Smart Initiative, an observatory of UNESCO for the exchange of knowledge on climate change, green economies, and sustainable development.
