Erika Harms
Erika Harms has focused her career on creating platforms to unite the private and public sectors in support of the conservation priorities of the United Nations and has spearheaded initiatives such as the Alliance for Sustainable Tourism and the Association for Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria. She was Founding Executive Director of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Social entrepreneur with diplomatic experience, Erika builds bridges between the private sector and the public sector. Her efforts now focus on finding integrated solutions for the conservation and alleviation of poverty. In 2014 she started her own company, Planet 4 People Enterprises, to promote economic, social and environmental sustainability. She is also a founding partner of the Certification Company Q4C Group. In 2008, Conde Nast Traveler recognized Ms. Harms as "Trail Blazer" in Sustainable Tourism; In 2009, she was named "Ashoka Fellow"; And in 2010 she received the HSMAI award for the 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing. Erika is a lawyer, MBA and has a Master's degree in Natural Resources Management, and has recently acquired the Global Leader Auditor certification. She has been an adjunct professor at the renowned business school IE (Instituto Empresarial) in Madrid.
