Biologist with a Master's in Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology, Liza Agudelo has been actively involved in the coordination and management of conservation and sustainable development projects at local and international level, interacting at different levels of project design, management and execution. Its beginnings with community projects and non-forest forest products in its native Colombia led it to support the management of the portfolio of biodiversity projects of the United Nations Foundation, where it also collaborated in knowledge management exercises.
Liza was then based in Belize where she was the coordinator of ICRAN's Mesoamerican Reef Alliance, an international and multi-agency effort to promote sustainable tourism, fisheries and watershed management practices to minimize impacts on the second largest barrier reef in the Caribbean. world. In recent years, Liza was Senior Program Manager for the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
